Potrivit deadline.com, Ted Sarandos, co-CEO-ul Netflix, s-a arătat dezamăgit de declarațiile lui James Cameron, care consideră că o achiziție de către Netflix a unor active cheie de la Warner Bros ar fi „distructivă pentru industria cinematografică”. Sarandos a comentat că a fost surprins de scrisoarea incendiară pe care regizorul Avatar i-a trimis-o senatorului Mike Lee.

Sarandos s-a arătat prea politicos pentru a folosi termenul „mincinos”, dar a exprimat o stare de neliniște și trădare. El a menționat că scrisoarea, datată 10 februarie, susținea în mod efectiv oferta ostilă de 108 miliarde de dolari a Paramount, fără a o menționa direct.

That break led to a savvy pivot to the small screen, with "Star Wars" spinoff show "The Mandalorian" launching Disney's streaming service Disney+ in 2019.Led by showrunner Jon Favreau, "The Mandalorian" leaned into the deep mythology of the franchise with a unique Western gunslinger aesthetic.
